It’s hard to get used to at first. Actually it was easier when he was blind, to be able to hear the things he shouldn’t, at least then he had an excuse.
It unnerves him when he finally makes it back to the house. He hears Juliette’s heartbeat and its a completely foreign noise, one that raises his imaginary hackles and makes his heart beat erratically because intruder. He takes a deep breath and curls up on the couch and concentrates on listening to the tv of the old couple next door instead of her heartbeat and ignores how much it hurts.

They do, after pictures have been taken and Aurora almost spills milk on her perfect dress, get married on the playground behind the jungle gym. Phillip’s best friend David is the one that marries them and Phillip places a clumsy kiss to her cheek when David said it was okay to kiss her. Snow was there to perform the cootie procedure for them afterwards.
It was perfect.
