    Summary

“She ran the red rooms,” Barnes said angrily. “She was Karpov’s right hand for god alone knows how long. If there’s anyone left in the world who might reasonably be expected to know every single trigger ever placed in my brain, it’s her. And you want me to walk out into a situation where –”

“She’s the only person left in the world who might reasonably be expected to know how to clean them out,” said Romanov.

“I didn’t get a choice either,” she said. “Bruce didn’t, Clint didn’t.” Tony himself hadn’t, in some ways.

    “His parents,” he said.

Two weather-worn, weed-choked little headstones in a badly-kept graveyard outside of Stalingrad flashed up before her mind’s eye; she jumped up, flinging the chair away with a sudden violent movement. Should she have driven up to Moscow three years ago and murdered every surviving member of the KGB over those stones? There was no excuse for that kind of cruelty, none. “Twenty years later! Don’t even start.” She was too angry to stand still. She wanted Tony here so she could wrap a hand around his throat and shake him, demand what the hell made her and Bruce and Clint so different: compassion for all, unless it touched Tony himself. Oh yes, that was Stark through and through.

Barry Allen is a good CSI, but this whole stupid Heatwave serial killer thing is just killing him.

Or, you know, people around him.

Luckily for him, he's always got Mick to complain to...

Joe frowns. "You think they were hiding something?"

"I mean, yes and no?" Barry replies, shrugging helplessly when Joe glares at him. "Okay, let me rephrase. Yes, I think they were hiding something. No, I don't think it's really relevant. I mean, I don't really think they were hiding Heatwave in the alleyway out back or anything like that. It's probably nothing more than some run-of-the-mill labwork paranoia that someone's going to steal their work, or maybe some scientists they hired have a bad history with law enforcement, or something like that."

    Summary

Post-DH AU: After the war, people rebuild, people recover, and life goes on in all its ups and downs. George Weasley really could have done without the down of some nutter releasing hundreds of boggarts across the country, because he'd rather not rediscover his mortal fears, but he'll deal with it and do his best to help people laugh in the face of fear. Maybe it's time to prove that, despite everything, he's still got it.

Wars don’t spring up from nowhere. War is the result of a bubbling cauldron finally boiling over. Before the war, George thought he’d had a good understanding of human ugliness and hatred, but now... He can’t read a goddamn newspaper without feeling at least a little sick to his stomach.

You wrote an article praising the Ministry for replacing Scrimgeour with Thicknesse, George will always think, because he was apparently both too ruthless and too soft for your liking. And you’re still writing political opinion pieces, like you didn’t defend the Muggleborn Registration Act as a commendable control action in “chaos” and something to wait and see the results of. Now you’re just pretending to be on our side, shielded by your “neutrality” despite how others killed innocents in front of you, because yours lost.

    Summary

During a mission to retrieve future tech provided by Eobard from a secretive military facility, Mick finds Earth-1 Kara being experimented on with her cousin. He breaks her and her cousin out and takes them to the Waverider. Since he’s the first human to show them any kind of kindness (aka freeing them and taking too much pleasure in destroying the lab, time-altering effects be damned), Kara and Clark sort of imprint on him. Like baby ducklings.

This their story based on my tumblr prompt.

Church scowled, like he usually did when he was reminded of Epsilon. “Off doing shit in the Red’s hologram chamber again. I don’t know. Don’t care either.”
“Dude, are you seriously sore that Caboose is spending time with him? I thought you wanted Caboose to leave you alone.”
“Shut up Tucker,” Church said. “I don’t like that guy.”
    “Isn’t he you?” Tucker asked.
“What’s that got to do with liking him?” Church said.
“… okay that got dark,” Tucker decided. “Anyways. That’s none of your business.”
