The Old One, The Sleeping Beast, Seeker of Blood and Devourer of Souls, Haunting Abomination of the Darkened Woods, woke to find his sacred grounds were no longer there.

The new ways are more than a bit confusing, but there's no reason an ancient god can't adapt with the times.

    Summary

A few years into his reign, Henry IV is troubled to learn of mystic attracting followers to his revels in the Forest of Hainault. Some say he's a saint or prophet, others that he's a vision of Christ himself. Many have noticed that he resembles the old king, Richard II.

Prince Hal - always curious about the latest novelty - takes his friends to see, but his cynicism melts away in the presence of the charismatic, kingly figure, and so eventually does his sanity.

Henry must take action to restore order to his family and his kingdom, but what chance does order stand against this powerful and delicious chaos?

A reworking of Euripides' Bacchae in the world of medieval Christianity and Shakespeare's histories.

    Summary

1950. A playwright is fascinated by a decidedly camp photograph of a theatrical group for British soldiers during the Siege of Kandahar, 1880. He tracks down an old man who claims to be one of them. Who claims to be a lot of things.

There's a story to tell. A story of the Victorian gay underworld extending to the farthest reaches of empire. A story of two deeply amoral men in finding the possibility of what ... tenderness? in a hellish situation.

And there's a right way to tell it. (Plays! Plays within plays. Plays about plays. The vigorous and satisfying penetration of the fourth wall. Distancing. You might want to call it Brechtian, but it's also Gay to the core.)

And there's a right time too. That's the problem.
