    Summary

Carlos has spent his life asking questions, and he accepted a long time ago that the best questions lead to more questions more often than they lead to answers. He just never could’ve anticipated the kind of questions Night Vale would leave him asking.

    He never could’ve anticipated Cecil.

    Summary

Night Vale is a little bit sentient, and a little bit fond of Cecil. It's weird to get civic awards for your boyfriend's orgasm.

I'm not allowed to use run on sentences in my writing at work, so this is full of all the ways to connect a sentence which I'm banned from during my weekdays. Title from a Bright Eyes song. Anything clever you notice probably came from the podcast itself, or from something else not mine.

For Lisa, who got me into this ridiculous fandom, and is now forced to read this and pretend she enjoyed it.

    Summary

Carlos is absolutely objective. It’s just that it’s quite hard to stay objective when you’ve got Hooded Figures living in your kitchen, radio news reporters stalking you with somewhat dubious baked goods, and everything is so soaked with chemicals, radiation and dark magic that half the time your food disparages your cookery skills while you’re trying to make dinner.

    Summary

With his own two eyes Carlos has observed a house that empirically doesn’t exist. He’s never seen a quantum particle, but his computer models and lab readouts reassure him of their presence. Cecil – lovely and wonderful and strange Cecil – is comforting and solid in every way…except in Carlos’ peripheral vision, when his edges waver as though the lack of direct observation has left him unsure of what shape he should be.

It means absolutely nothing, to see a thing in Night Vale.
