  1. Summary

Modern-day Hobbit AU set in Scotland, wherein Thorin is the leader of the most notorious criminal family in Scotland, and Bilbo is the bemused grocer who is dragged into their business (and their family) against his will.

The Sons of Durin is the first story, and should definitely be read first. Durin's Sons is a very different perspective on that story. Children of the Lonely Mountain is a series of short stories that fill in the gaps. All three are set chronologically before Durin's Folk, which will continue the story into the events of the Lord of the Rings series.

    Summary

Born in the Blue Mountains and raised by their royal kin, Aesa and Gyda have always been aware of their heritage and the riches that await them once the Lonely Mountain is reclaimed. Yet no songs or stories could have prepared them for what happens when that long-awaited day arrives: with Thorin dead, the realm in disarray and winter rapidly closing in, the sisters find themselves facing dangerous new intrigues and a rift amongst a people who - by rights - ought to be at peace.

But not all wars are won on the battlefield - and the women of Durin’s line will fight for as long as they live.

(Expect a happy mix of movie and book canon, original characters as well as familiar faces, women being awesome, and plenty of political intrigue!)

    Summary

AU of movieverse. It is many years since tragedy struck the line of Durin when the youngest heir was lost to a pack of orcs. Now Bilbo Baggins, having agreed only to stealing treasure from a dragon, finds himself instead tangled up in a web of tragedy and revenge. Perhaps it's foolhardy of him to get involved at all, but really, someone has to try and keep these dwarves out of trouble. As for the rest, well, what is lost does not always stay lost forever.
