In the blazing month of April of 1958, Frank Iero considered himself a greaser punk old enough and wise enough to truly understand just how under appreciated and underestimated he was, as an eighteen year old teen writhing in the black leather world of greasers and subterraneans, freaks and reds. He could think ten more original thoughts by his first lazy jack off in the morning than half these assholes had in the whole damn school year, and Frank knew it.
On the outside, Frank was cool and aloof, and that was how he was meant to be. But inside, he was a god damn fream of a kid who had too many genius thoughts tumbling around than could be healthy. Ignorance was bliss, but Frank Iero? He was wide awake.
Gerard Way was that artsy kid that would have never caught his eye if he hadn't seen the kid walk out of the hospital covered in bruises. But now that Frank knew he existed, he couldn't look away.

It's a very unusual day at Empire Records. Pete loses $9,000, Gerard tries to lose his virginity to a pop star, and Brian tries not to lose his mind. Meanwhile, Patrick needs to keep Pete's head attached to his body, Frank needs to confess his love by 1:37, Lindsey's trying a crazy new hair style, and Brendon just wants everybody to chill out and dance. But they mustn't dwell. Not today. Not on Rex Manning Day. (Empire Records fusion)

It's the lake in November, and the move closer to the ocean, and Gerard's fixation, and Gerard's compulsions like tidal waves dragging him down, like he's drifting out into the middle of the ocean, just stuck there: water turning to quicksand around him, drowning.
And the letter; Frank finds it on the floor of the boys' bathroom, and the only paragraph legible is the final one, and even still, it barely is: 'I've been underwater for a long time now, but I'm not drowning, I'm beginning to think I can breathe like this, but I can't, I'm gasping for breath, and I have to do this, Mikey, I have to end this myself. I'm going to the lake on the 1st of November, don't wait for me... I'm not coming back.'
The name signed at the bottom is little more than a smudged mess of blue ink, and it's obviously a suicide note, Frank's stupid, but not stupid enough to brush over that fact, and whoever this person is, Frank knows that they most certainly don't deserve to die. And Frank isn't going to let them, but one person in a whole school, it's like a needle in a haystack, but he's got time, it's November 1st in thirty days, and he can only hope that it will be enough.
He's got one month: the date is October 1st.
Gerard has been running away for as long as he can remember, away from the hunters, away from his past, and away from himself most of all.
Besides his brother and Ray, he has been alone for time untold.
But his constant dreams refuse to be left in the dust and it is reaching the point where Gerard is convinced he is going insane, all because of this dark haired man whose name he doesn't even know.
Frank Iero is a mess - plain and simple.
He isn't living, just surviving, and even though no seventeen year old should feel this way, he can't seem to snap out of it.
Frank knows his life is going nowhere, so he wastes his nights away at the local bar, drowning his problems in a drink and hooking up with anyone that looks at him twice.
He doesn't care if he is being a slut - Frank just loves sex, he actually feels wanted, even if it's only for an hour or two.
But when one thing leads to another, and Frank finds his way into his own teacher's bed, will he finally discover everything he has been looking for, or will it all end in disaster?
