"Getting me to kiss you like that was some kind of caper, right?" He whispered, inches from your face. You could see dirt on his cheeks and smell the sweat coming up from under his shirt collar. Shit, you could count his fucking eyelashes right now if you wanted, because the adrenaline surge was reaching a new high, what with all that pressure on your throat.

Karkat managed somehow to tear his eyes away from the kitschiest sword stand ever and its glittery hopefully-fake diamonds and give the man a long, unamused, unimpressed stare.
He hoped it was unimpressed. Apartment, his ass, this was a fucking penthouse suite. There were highly polished wooden floors everyfuckingwhere and marble countertops with inlaid fake-gold patterns (dear lord he hoped fake) and a chimney with a flatscreen showing a badly pixelated fire and faced by a fur rug.
It was ridiculously gaudy. It was also ridiculously expensive.
Bring a lot of your whores back here, Hefner? Karkat didn't retort, because hey, he was standing right here, wasn't he.

Dave Strider is a secretarial asset with "personality problems" that would have gotten him culled if not for his otherwise exemplary administrative abilities. He finds himself drawn into the quadrants of the would-be social reformer who leased him. He finds he is surprisingly Okay with this.
Both their lives become interesting (in the curse sense) when the Heiress retains Pyrope and her team.
