Summary
All Godric wanted was a quiet life of scholarship, ideally one that didn't involve starving to death. So when two old friends (well, acquaintances, really) showed up and offered him a teaching job, he took it with few reservations, not realizing how extensively he was involving himself in international magical politics. Is gen-focused, but will probably contain romantic subplots of several kinds.

Summary
These are stories about the medieval magical world and its characters, focusing mainly on the first professors at Hogwarts. They are:
Godric of Gryffindor: an introverted, scholarly young man with horrible luck, few practical skills, no money, and a lot of anxiety issues. He is trying to become an Animagus -- the first since the secret was lost centuries ago.
Lady Rowena Ravenclaw: a young widow with a daughter, she is the only child of the tyrant Chief of the Wizards' Council, Lady Ophelia Aeaeae, who she resents bitterly. Helga has been her best friend since childhood.
Helga Hufflepuff: a successful businesswoman who works alongside her husband, Basil. She creates new species of vicious and poisonous plants for high-paying customers who need security systems. Most of the wizards and witches on the Council are her customers.
Lord Salazar Slytherin: an elderly widower with a grown son, Jasper. He is on the Wizards' Council and is Lady Aeaeae's greatest political rival. He hopes to win the Council back from her soon.

Summary
Nobody knows what the men and women of the Department of Mysteries get up to; everything they work on is top secret, and Unspeakables who retire are Obliviated to prevent that information from getting out. They are much more likely than civilians to die from workplace accidents, commit suicide, or end their lives after years of severe mental illness. These are their stories.

What if our heroes had not won the Battle of Hogwarts? Minerva in the Muggle world. With Hooch interludes.

Notes
After the Order lose the final battle at Hogwarts, Minerva McGonagall goes into hiding, getting a job as a physics tutor. She has seen too many people die to have much hope for her lover, who is MIA.
The fic alternates between past and present, filling in Minerva's backstory quietly while she tries to get used to a lonely existence in the Muggle world. Then people from her past begin to show up, gradually, and it becomes clear that this situation is temporary for all involved. It's a good, slow-building fic, and I really like reading the Muggle perspective on this bizarre, terse woman who can tutor physics students but isn't familiar with copiers and computers.

A curse leaves Sam with a very different version of Dean.

Notes
Dean is regressed to the age of seven, and no longer recognizes Sam, who now has to lug an angry seven-year-old across the country while he tries to find a way to break the curse.
This is the kind of story that makes you want to hug the Winchester boys forever to make up for John's utter parenting fail. But it's not just angsty, it's angsty and well-written; seven-year-old Dean is believable as a tough little boy who misses his father terribly, and Sam's point of view as the younger-brother-become-older is pretty damn heartbreaking.

Summary
In 1919, Harriet Derbyshire was killed while investigating the disappearance of Torchwood Four in Dublin. In 2009, UNIT pulls a dying man out of the Irish Sea with a one-word message: Torchwood. Martha joins up with Jack's team in Cardiff to track down the errant branch of the organization -- before a time-traveling race of aliens can change the course of history as we know it.

Notes
Martha joins Torchwood temporarily to investigate seven bizarre deaths. Meanwhile (for very strange values of "meanwhile"), in 1919, there are alien and human politics afoot.
The canon characters in this fic are absolutely IC -- just looking at it now Martha's POV makes me grin at the beginning, Mickey is absolutely great as Torchwood's new in-over-his-head IT guy, the Torchwood regulars are a joy to read, and the original characters have lives and plans of their own. It's a great worldbuildy fic, exploring Torchwood teams past, as well as present and future human explorations into time and space. And it's just plain fun to read.

Summary
Ianto Jones finds himself far from home. But there are guns, aliens, and more Strange Happenings than one can shake a stick at, so sometimes it's like he hasn't left. Of stories within stories, and the adventures of small characters.

The Rift takes Ianto and spits him out on a strange planet, in the future, among soldiers -- and, most offputtingly, Jack is one of them.
I especially love this story's slow reveal of the planet Ianto finds himself on and the characters that he is surrounded by. The situation is set up well, the atmosphere is alternately gritty and wonderful (where appropriate), and Ianto's role in his new setting is believable.
