  1. Summary

Yuuri and Victor sort out their communication breakdowns after Season 1, but then what? This series takes place in a world more closely adjacent to ours, where homophobia exists, Russia as a political entity is Not Friendly, and our skaters have to learn to find their way on an unbeaten path.

Having friends in high places (specifically a Gulfstream G650 private airplane) helps. It's much easier to find yourself when you have a way of getting places quickly in a pinch.

This spans from the end of Season 1 through late spring of 2018, and follows Victor, Yuuri and Yuri (and friends) through the busiest, best, and most difficult years of their lives.

It is approximately 97% canon-compliant for season 1. The largest point of divergence is that in this version of the story, homophobia exists and the political situation is roughly what we have now.

The series as a whole is complex, with a variety of smut, fluff and the occasional helping of angst. It is, ultimately, a happy story, but it is not an easy one.

We hear lots of terrible parenting stories in response to kids coming out. But if Rule Number One is "Mama Loves You," then it can go a whole lot better than that.

  5. Summary

http://www.whofic.com/series.php?seriesid=2812 for the whole complete series. I'm bringing it over a couple chapters at a time, but you can read the whole thing there.

This series is my massive fixit for everything after Journey's End. It was sparked in part by RTD commenting, "She never would have chosen the clone, but we didn't have a choice," or something to that effect. I agree completely. And once Rose doesn't leave her Doctor, everything shifts from then forward. It is also a fixit for End of Time, Children of Earth, and the oops year.

“It is in vain to say human beings ought to be satisfied with tranquility: they must have action; and they will make it if they cannot find it. Millions are condemned to a stiller doom than mine, and millions are in silent revolt against their lot. Nobody knows how many rebellions ... ferment in the masses of life which people earth.”

This is my first exhibit when people say that ABO is inherently problematic. Brilliant use of the genre for political commentary, but also an amazing story.

    Summary

“Are you eating Biscoff with a spoon right out of the jar?...” Yurio asked in disgust.
“Yurio, you get to judge my eating habits when you are eight months pregnant, and not a day before,” Victor said in a dangerously sweet voice.
“You know I'm an alpha,” Yurio spat back, “I can't get pregnant, thank fuck.”
“Well I guess that means you'll never get to judge me then, doesn't it?” Victor smiled, licking his spoon again.
Otabek put his hand on Yurio's shoulder before he could reply, shaking his head.
“Remember what happened the last time you made him cry.”
“That wasn't my fault!” Yurio scowled, crossing his arms, “He's hormonal!”
“It matters less whose fault it really is, and more whose fault Yuuri thinks it is...” Otabek countered.
The quick glance Yurio gave toward the kitchen belied exactly who the real head alpha of their loosely forming pack was.
Victor smiled and went back to his snack.

    Summary

The entire hockey team falters, faced by Katsuki's dark eyes shaded by his inky eyelashes. It's very effective. Mila's going to find out what mascara he uses.

"Did - did someone pull a prank on you?" says Katsuki. His Russian isn't terrible, but between his soft voice and his frankly adorable accent, half-American and half-Japanese, he sounds like a little lost lamb.

    Summary

It’s almost funny. All he ever wanted was to play hockey, to play in the NHL, to win the Cup. This—Samwell, the team, the Haus—was supposed to be just a detour, but now it feels more like a destination he failed to realize he’s already reached.

(Or: Jack signs with the Falconers, graduates, and leaves. It's the hardest thing he's ever done. What comes after is even harder.)

One of the better fanfics I've ever read, period.
