(For a kink meme prompt) After Javert kills himself he remains as a ghost and when he sees that Valjean has pulled away from Cosette and is basically off alone, dying of a broken heart he is having none of that. The man committed suicide instead of throwing Valjean back in prison and he's not going to see that go to waste, even if it means haunting his ass until Valjean regains the will to live.
