    I was blown over when I first read this on DW, and I still am because OH MY GOD, THE WAY THIS RELATIONSHIP IS PORTRAYED. It's beautifully described and heart-wrenching all the way through. ;_;

    Summary

    Sherlock Holmes has long been fascinated with (and haunted by) the tragic story of his namesake cousin. When his nightmares about it grow unbearable and he starts seeing hypnotherapist Jim Moriarty, however, Sherlock begins to wonder whether he himself is his cousin's reincarnation. Have Sherlock and the modern John Watson known each other before this life? Can Sherlock solve a nineteenth-century murder and prove the historic Dr. Watson innocent, and also solve the current string of oddly-posed unidentified corpses?

    The intertwining of the original canon and the BBC adaptation is absolutely flawless. Every character, both from the past and the present, are completely and perfectly in-character, and the amount of care in inserting details from Doyle's writing is mind-blowing. The twist in particular was utterly delicious, and the ending? Heartwarming to the max.

    You have to admit, some of those special effects were so scary-looking that you can understand why adults describe a great fondness for the shows of their childhood mixed with an overwhelming feeling of terror. In between discussions of the creepy puppets from "Outerscope" and the Sleestaks, "Candle Cove" comes up again and again.

    Jeeeeesus. It reads like a horror flick -- a good one, not just the kind where a bunch of teenagers die by being stupid.
