This was written by my predecessor playing Armand in a Yahoo! mailing list role play. I had no idea she'd been so influenced by the musical, and that perhaps something like this was in her mind.
It's well-written, and even without being too obvious about it, follows well on the events of the musical where Armand had been imprisoned and tortured by Chauvelin and his agents.

This story is so well put together and the setting so realized that the Gundam Wing elements almost got in the way. I found myself compelled to keep reading to see what happened and how this interesting place worked. Spoilers for Episode Zero and the series.

Spoilers: None for GW, very few for Pretty Woman.This fic was written in response to Nova Una's challenge to the 1x2ML to write Gundam Wing, Pretty Woman style, with Heero as the prostitute and Duo the businessman who makes his acquaintance.
I'm not sure about the title, but I thought it a damn sight better than "Pretty Heero."Edulcoration - noun form of the verb edulcorate, meaning to free from harshness (as of attitude) or to soften.

I passed this story over many times, because I was uninterested in AUs in general and Pretty Woman in particular. But when I finally succumbed, right away the depth of characterization and the competence of the writing won me over. Duo and Wufei are business partners whose specialty is buying up desperate businesses and gutting them for profit. While they're in Los Angeles courting the Peacecrafts to buy their business, Duo takes a joyride in WuFei's expensive car, and meets Heero, a prostitute, when he asks for directions back to his hotel. He decides to take Heero back with him, and things progress from there. It plays out over time as a very sweet courtship, with wonderfully complex back stories for the characters' AU histories, and a convincingly clever resolution of the corporate plotting.
