Mozart is sleep-deprived and maybe a little mad, and practically daring his boss Archbishop Colloredo to kiss him seems like a good idea at the time, at least for as long as it takes him to suggest it.

In his face there is no human pity, no understanding of her pain.

If there had been, perhaps she would have hated him less.

Elisabeth has sympathy for Death, once, but it's a long journey to get there.

    Summary

Macheath never showed his teeth when he smiled.

An overly literal interpretation of "Mack the Knife."

Contains moderately graphic aftermath of murder, Mackie being horrible, emotional manipulation, and the consent issues you'd expect from this pairing. The M rating is primarily for violence.

    Summary

Durmonyás accidentally lets slip that he doesn't really mind the whip. Unfortunately, Bakszén has a tendency to ruin things by talking. (Set in an AU where Bakszén's attempted coup never goes so far and things remain light-hearted and cracky.)

    Summary

Every time Bakszén managed to make Józsiás back away, uncomfortable, he felt a little better about the whole stabbing thing. And it was easy—all he had to do was be friendly. Being friendly was practically one of his ambassadorial duties. Humans were so weird about personal space.

Bakszén is the Most Helpful Ambassador Ever, provided what you need is invasion of personal space and things being set on fire; Józsiás has weird ideas about what constitutes dirty talk; everyone else has a betting pool going on when they're going to finally admit something's up.

    Summary

It wasn't right for a girl to have a wolf, they said, not for a normal girl. There was something queer about a girl with a wolf, not quite natural. Certainly it wouldn't do at all for a girl to be seen in society with a wolf at her side, like some kind of heathen foreigner, or worse—an American!

In smaller towns, they might put down a girl's wolf the very day of imprinting, before the bond had a chance to settle. A few days of sickness, fever and an upset stomach, and she'd be all right. She wouldn't even remember, a girl that age.

    That was what they said.

(Rebecca + psychic wolves. Warning: contains a mostly off-screen animal death, for those sensitive to that.)

There is no simple word like beloved for what he feels for Tybalt's face, that tightening in his chest of mingled hatred and reluctant fondness, the rush of excitement whenever they cross blades or words. Mercutio has always won, before, the better fighter on both battlefields.
