Take a walk down Season One Memory Lane...with a few *changes*
Basically...
Starting with The Wedding episode we get a glimpse into why Jess and Nick's relationship always seems so complicated and intense. Why are they so invested in each others lives? Why are there so many LOOKS and UNSPOKEN WORDS? AKA the four times throughout the season that Jess and Nick hook up and the one time that they don't. I tried to stick as closely to canon as possible.
It starts out fun and flirty and gets progressively angsty, romantic, and fluffy. Completed work.

When Erik beds down in an alley that night, he reflects that at least he's not a poodle, a sheltie or some other completely inane or poofy breed of dog.
At least as a doberman he still gives off that air of danger that's clung to him all of his life; and if he smiles that manic smile, it's liable to be even more frightening than usual.
That this is a comforting thought says something about how far he's fallen.

"You're flaunting your breasts."
"Isn't that what they're for? Morgana flaunts hers an awful lot."
Merlin's face contorted in an interesting way, and he glanced around the hall as if to check for Morgana's presence. "I can't believe you just said that," he whispered fiercely, "and also, I can't believe you're competing with Morgana over... over this!"
"We've always competed, ever since we were children. Drove Father quite mad."
"I can imagine," Merlin muttered.
"And mine are bigger, anyway. They are, aren't they?"
