Summary
The fall had not been kind to the young woman, doing considerable damage to her already weary and battered body, and the heat of the flames was sapping away her last reserves of strength. But stopping was out of the question. She couldn't fall now. She couldn't.
She hadn't found him yet!

Summary
A collection of drabbles for the Motochika/Mitsuhide pairing (each one will be between 100 and 250 words, with a few exceptions). Canon is SW3 almost exclusively; any exceptions will be mentioned in the notes of the relevant drabble.
Each one was inspired by a prompt from my fc_smorgasbord or fics20in20 challenges over at LJ (so far). Please enjoy!

Summary
“What is wrong with you?” he snapped, voice quiet but extremely sharp. Motochika did not seem phased by that reaction; he merely smirked widely, placed his hands on Mitsuhide's shoulders and pushed him back into the room.
“Nothing,” was the reply. “I merely wished to visit you without the eyes of your family upon us.”

Summary
The implication that they were not meant to be hurt Mitsuhide deeply. It meant that they might never meet again, and that thought threatened to crush his spirit every time he let it pass through his mind.

“I was merely playing by the rules, my friend, but as usual, it took rebelling against them to get us where we needed to be.”

Summary
Mitsuhide glanced at the Samurott, slightly concerned. Where had it come from? He was sure that nobody in his army possessed one, at least not yet, but it could not be wild. They were far too north for that to be the case.
For the 'Close' prompt on my Cotton Candy Bingo card.

Summary
There was no light to see by; no moonlight creeping through the windows, or lamps lit in the room. The night was overcast and wet, and they had become too caught up in each other to think of lighting any candles.
For the 'Dark' prompt on my Cotton Candy Bingo card.

Summary
Back when they were still teenagers, they had shared their first drink together. Motochika had only been very mildly affected, but Mitsuhide’s subsequent attempt at standing up had ended with him falling backwards and hitting his head against the hardwood floor.
For the 'Embarrass(ed)' prompt on my Cotton Candy Bingo card!

Summary
The decision was made. Earlier that day Motochika had raised his eyes and found himself looking at his friend’s elegant form; merely the presence of Mitsuhide was enough to confirm that the inevitable had happened.
Companion piece to 'Before Honnouji.'

He accepted Lord Nobunaga as he was, and enjoyed all of the emotions that poured forth unrestrained from the man, but Ranmaru's instincts were telling him that there was something to worry about.

Summary
It was confusing, in the haze of sleep; Mitsuhide shifted onto his back so he could get a look at whatever it was generating the incredibly comfortable heat and found himself gazing at Motochika.

“Are you sure he’s right for you?”
Ranmaru regarded Mitsuhide with soft brown eyes, his tone of voice expressing genuine concern. Mitsuhide himself frowned, looking rather confused.
“Of course,” he replied, tilting in his head a fraction. “Does it seem like I have doubts, my friend?”

Summary
There had been a dream; a dream full of heat, desire and the touch of another. Vivid images still filled his mind, surviving the shift from sleep to wakefulness that they themselves had caused.

Not once before had he looked upon on a face like that… and yet it was as familiar to him as the faces of his own family, those he had known since he was born.

It always made Mitsuhide a little sad when he thought about it; something so beautiful being used to bring harm, when it was just as capable of bringing joy.

'The right words were at the edge of his mind, definitely there but unwilling to reveal themselves yet.'
Gentle fluff, written for the 'lake' prompt in my smorgasbord challenge.
