    Summary

The deep places of the earth. Vaulted cathedrals filled with Mahal's voice. And the perfect cradle from which to reform two souls; forged anew in synchronous heat and passion...

Only, things aren't going exactly how Thorin Oakenshield, Reformed King Under The Mountain, dreamed. Bilbo is confoundingly...confused. The bond that is tearing apart his very being is in danger of being snuffed out before it's even had much of a chance to begin, and there is far too much political chicanery than is good for his fraying nerves and temper.

And orcs. Definitely too many orcs.

If he is very lucky, he may just manage to woo Bilbo, and possibly save his sanity in the process...

A prompt fill for a Dwarven Courtship story; with lots of feels, a touch of fluff and a mine-cart full of Dwarven culture thrown in for good measure.

And Nori. Because he'd find a way to steal centre stage, regardless.

    Summary

This is a plot bunny that has grown and consumed my brain.

Smaug and the one Ring do not exist. Sauron is just a bad guy with orc armies. Ori of the Brothers Ri is a freelance scribe in the poorest part of the City of Dale. He rushes to rescue his trouble-making elder brother and finds a life in the Mountain among royalty. Dori has secrets! And there’s nothing like a fairy-tale of scandal and lost nobility! Expect appearances over the course of the story from Thror, Frerin (who is an utterly spoiled brat - apologies to Frerin worshipers), Dain, Thranduil and his entourage, Bard and the Bardlings, Gandalf, and finally Bilbo and little Frodo.

This is not a serious story, just a lively romp. Those of you have read my previous epic know I am heavily influenced by Jane Austen and more so by Georgette Heyer’s regencies. There are some shocking bits; fist fights, mentions of past violence, murders, and abortion but in the past and Dwalin and Nori use rather a lot of bad language. This is not at the level of Pride of the Jedi silliness but I do like giving Ori adventures and interesting friends.

    Summary

Billa would never be the gentle creature that the hobbits of the Shire had wanted her to be, and that suited her just fine.
She was no longer a hobbit of the Shire - she was a hobbit of Erebor.
She had fallen in love with a king, and had that love returned. No other hobbit could say the same, and Billa would never regret it. She had everything that she could possibly want - a family, a lover and a little one on the way.
But adjusting to life in the mountain, surrounded by dwarves, would have been hard enough without intending to marry their king. Dwarves were an incredibly secretive race, and having a hobbit live among them was odd enough, but having her sworn to their king and carrying his child... To say that some of them didn't approve would be an understatement, though Billa had more pressing things to worry about - like whether or not she was going to be a good mother, and how she could possibly endure being pregnant with a half-dwarven baby.
She would need all the help she could get.

The sequel to 'No Respectable Young Lady'.
