" There is an ancient proverb the Germans would convey by their tongues: Blut ist dicker als Wasser. Blood is thicker than water. These words are used to imply family ties are always stronger and more important than friendship ties, no matter how close you are to the friend. In a situation when a friend betrays you, you could always have a shoulder to cry upon in your family circle. If family was supposed to love you no matter the circumstance, why did my very own cousin Stephen of Blois shatter my heart and betray me to usurp the English crown? "

You may think you know the story of a tale of two cousins who contended for their claims for the English throne. But what very few know is the forbidden love between the cousins. While there had been gossip of their close connection before and after “The Anarchy,” their ambition and revenge doomed their romance to a civil war leaving untold thousands of dead.

In her very own point of view, Empress Matilda chronicles her relationship with her cousin Stephen of Blois and why they were fatally destined to become enemies for their hunger for the crown.

Instead of Robb influencing Theon, the opposite occurred. Robb became more like a southern lord than a northern one and Jon felt the consequences. But a person can only take so much before enough is enough. Jon decides he'd be better off finding a new life far away from Westerns. Only he has a destiny that he cannot run from. After all, he is the song of ice and fire.

Jon Snow leaves Winterfell after he is humiliated too many times by Lady Stark and his trueborn brother Robb. Turning Point - Robb makes friends with Theon Greyjoy and is influenced by him into Ironborn ways of thinking, and worse. He openly calls Jon a bastard and blames him for his mistakes and those of Theon.

Jon leaves Winterfell and chooses NOT to go to the Wall, but leaves for Essos via White Harbor (the Manderly port-city). He continues to write to his younger siblings - Bran, Arya, and three-year-old Rickon - and to send gifts to all his siblings including Robb and Sansa who didn't behave well with him. He also informs Lord Stark of his dreams (he is a greenseer in this AU) about the White Walkers, the wildlings/Free Folks, and the Wall. Lots of things change because Jon goes to Essos and not the Wall, because he keeps in touch (one-way) with the Starks in Winterfell, and because he makes some surprising discoveries about his heritage and makes three important new friends.
