The worst of it though, the thing that really makes him feel like he’s taking crazy pills, is that no one else seems bothered by this. The public thinks they’re fake for god’s sake, and all Sherlock can say is “if the case is interesting enough, they’ll find me.” As if that was the only thing that mattered! Lestrade thinks the whole situation is hilarious, has started making it worse by saying “Who?” when people ask about Sherlock. Mycroft feels he’s done his part by cleaning up the mess left by Moriarty and if in the process of wiping out Richard Brook he also happened to turn his little brother into an unreality, well, all the more protection against such a thing happening again.

Summary
There’s a slow downward roll of the car, then a sudden stop and a splash, and John’s thrown forward in the boot. He starts struggling a little more earnestly, listening with dread to the gushing gurgle of water flowing. The front of the car tips downward and he can feel it bob a bit. The rushing gets louder. The radio is now playing Adele’s Someone Like You, and he’s so incredibly calm that he can think Well, at least it’s a song I actually like. His impending demise now has a soundtrack. He wants to giggle.

It’s obvious from the moment he meets John Watson that the man was the most Hufflepuffy Hufflepuff to ever walk the halls of Hogwarts. When he invites John round to look at the potential flat share, all he’s thinking about are the benefits of having a fellow wizard around who won’t complain, will be easy to push around, and can clean up after him. That’s pretty much it.
