“Your shirt is fine, but you can’t keep the shorts,” she calls over her shoulder, quietly as she can. Part of her expects Tiffany to protest, but she hears the telltale hiss of a zipper as Tiffany does as she is told. Sooyoung is down only to her underwear and holsters now: she spends five seconds trying to figure out a way to get out of this that ends in her keeping her gun, a little sigh of distaste escapes her when she realizes it’s just not possible. She hides it with the clothes, stuffing them anywhere they fit in the cubicle: file cabinets, drawers, behind the bulletin board.

As soon as she’s sure all the evidence is tucked out of view, she kicks over the trashcan.

“What are you – ” but Tiffany doesn’t get to finish, because Sooyoung presses her up against the desk and kisses her.

    Summary

You just gotta keep doing it, okay, just keep doing it over and over, do it thousands of times, 'cause you'll get that muscle memory. Just y'know, just forget about the guys, the big guys charging at you, and the fans, the chaos, just like, zone in, inside yourself and forget it all, let it all, the chaos, just let it go. Just let it go, you know?

    Summary

Texas forever just isn't the same.

utterly fantastic: simultaneously vast & sweeping & intensely claustrophobic; the sway back & forth bet. inertia & momentum, home & Lyla, feel perfect & heartbreaking & intense. Oh, Tim Riggins. And god, the writing: fantastic.

Maybe it was just that afternoon itself, the long drive he took east out of Dillon after escaping from the babysitting duty Mindy was always trying to foist on him, heading nowhere in particular, & out the window to either side, the long flat forever of cows & fields & Texas Texas Texas, far as the eye could see. Used to be the sight of it made him smile, made him feel like he was home, laughing in his truck with Street in the passenger seat holding Lyla balanced on his lap, all three of them waving at the police as they passed 'cause nobody gave the Dillon panthers' star quarterback & starting fullback trouble in this town.

Thought, Texas forever, to himself, then had to pull the car over for a minute & get out, kick at the dirt & breathe, breathe, breathe.
