Here are a few things Bodhi Rook has learned from endless flights to and from missions:
- Cassian has mastered the art of seeming alarmingly awake despite also looking like he was at least half dead.
- Jyn Erso sleeps like a cat, able to curl up practically anywhere in the most uncomfortable places and positions.
- It is, after all, very much possible for Bodhi to fall asleep in the cockpit of a spaceship. He always thought the rush of adrenaline would never cease to keep him on edge, but apparently there is a point of exhaustion that beats stress hormones, and he has found it. (He only nearly crashes the ship. Nobody notices – Kay-Too would have, but he’s gone.)

She’s just wondering where best to look for Cassian, and how long to spend searching for him before she should assume he’s dead, when there’s an enormous commotion and a large number of stormtroopers hurtle past. A klaxon’s going mad, and Jyn can hear modulated orders being shouted. Something about a Wookiee, though what a Wookiee’s doing out here, off Kashyyk, Jyn doesn’t know. She’s only met one. He trounced her at dejarik and she slept with his captain.
Can’t be the same one, surely.
Jyn Erso, Cassian Andor, and the Galactic Civil War.

“How,” she pants, as they dash down the corridors of the military complex that was supposed to be her bag, “did you mistake the security wing for the mess hall.”
“You always talk this much when you’re running for your life, Sergeant?”
“I make exceptions for the stupid ones, sir.”
The inside of his cheek presses salt bright into his tongue. His eyes are open, and he's lying on a metal grill, contorted. His blaster is next to his hand. Breathing hurts, but he drags in a breath anyway, and it comes back.
K2, first. Then the man in white. Then—Jyn, that last whirl of her face above him as he fell. The panic there. The plans clipped to her belt.
(or, Cassian climbs, and is given a glimpse of something)
