Life on a small farm was never going to be easy, but the first year was harder than any of them had expected. And if they were going to make a success of life there, Marcus would need to let go of some things, and Cottia would have some growing up to do. Sounds grim? 'Tis a bit but there is a cute kitten, and a lot of booze and dancing, though not quite as much as I'd intended to start with.
Contains mention of animal sacrifice (but not of named animals with personalities.) Dodgy varients on Roman religion. Dubious supernatural beliefs. -
