Summary
I played around with the idea of doing a Talents and Star Trek: The Next Generation crossover, and even started it--twice! But given my other projects I doubt I'll finish it. Nevertheless, even though I don't plan on finishing this, I'm proud of the characterizations. So I figured I'd throw it out here for laughs. Here it is--two different openings for the idea of what might happen if Afra Lyon and Data ever met.

She could have won every time, of course. Occasionally she stopped worrying about it, got into the swing of it and cleaned up. They would tease then, gently, as she scooped up her chips and grinned at them. Never mind that she could beat Data, who was a blank to her empathic senses. Never mind that Will had learned exceptionally well the Betazoid techniques for mental shielding that she had taught him for use in dangerous situations, but which worked just as well to make sure that, when she tried to read him, his mind gave away as little as his poker face. She won because she was reading their minds. Of course . . . . She stopped going so much, after a while. They were all secretly relieved. Except that, to her, it wasn’t a secret.

FIVE CARD STUD, NOTHING WILD AND THE SKY IS THE LIMIT is the sequel to THE BEST LAID PLANS. It picks up with Picard as a wanted man, believed to be a Maquis traitor. His travelling companion is Ro Laren. And his friends include the Klingons. Meanwhile Beverly & company do their best to prove Picard innocent, even as they cope with trials of their own. Eventually, after lots of sex and violence, everyone ends up in the right beds.

Deanna can't decide between her two lovers so her mother meddles. Data throws a wake for the Enterprise that becomes legendary. And more than a few admirals think that Picard has joined the Maquis.
