It was always just seen as...kind of a given that Steve loved Tony, and Tony loved Steve. Therefore, it surprised absolutely no one when Steve decided he and Tony ought to be married. It did, however, mean that absolutely everyone in their lives had to get involved, for good or ill. The trick, as Steve slowly realizes, is not just to actually propose to Tony and pull the wedding off--it's to survive everyone else's attempts to help and plan, as well.

The Beta kids played through the game, Jack was nowhere near the threat he became - Bro never died, Gamzee never flipped out to the point of slaughter and the anger with Dave over the music eventually was overcome, Eridan and Vriska are still a pompous asses but that's why we love them. The victory returned each player to their state before ever playing yet with the knowledge of what had happened. Like the whole game was just a test- they didn't gain anything from it other than their normal lives back. They continued their shenanigans through pesterchum and time passes, they start to develop relationships offline as well.
