Summary
"Thor, they called him in voices edging on sneers, god of empty thunder. God of meaningless noise, god only of men who cower like children at storms." It began with Odin and Frigga's decision not to discourage Thor from learning magic as a child. The oldest son of Odin would become a trickster and a sorcerer, befriended only by three warriors in all of Asgard; the second son would be raised to know the truth of his heritage, and rise to fill the gap of his brother's irresponsibility by taking up the hammer Mjolnir and fighting his very nature in order to become a warrior-- and they would become gods unlike anyone's previous imagining.

I called out. "Would you like to hear a ghost story?"
For a moment Jack didn't move, and I knew he'd recognized my voice. After a moment he said, flatly, "I don't believe in ghosts."
"It's a complicated story," I admitted, and pulled the watch from my pocket by the chain. "And it starts with 'Long ago and far away.'"

Summary
The victor of this war holds no bearing on a telepath. Mutants? Humans? Doesn't matter. The 'who' can change but the fear will not.
There is no end to segregation. At least not when it concerns a telepath.

This is a Five Things Plus One story about ways that Marcus Flavius Aquila and Esca son of Cunoval might have met, and fortunately did not--and one way they did, which went rather better. Basically a set of depressing canon-era AUs plus some happiness.

Summary
The slide from “the LT and the Iceman” towards “Nate and Brad” is slow. Their identities are blurred by a hundred different small interactions that mean very little on their own, outside of a larger context. One thing is clear; some of it was Ray’s fault. We are assured of this.

Summary
"You won’t let me shower with you, likely because you know I’d be able to see it. It’s the only part of your life you really hide from me, John, it and the war, and I’d like to know about it. About you.”
