Returning to the Shire is not all that Bilbo Baggins had hoped. Certiantly there was no fanfare for him, not even jubilation for returning in one peice. Was he even the same Hobbit who had left the Shire?
Who is Bilbo Baggins? Hero? Adventurer? Mad Baggins is what the hobbits of the Shire whispered behind his back. Burglar is the name he earned among the dwarves. Halfling the men call him. If he was being honest with himself, it felt like Bilbo Baggins died at The Lonely Mountain.
One morning, in early winter, the frost thick, a hobbit formally known as Bilbo Baggins set out once more into Middle Earth to find out who he is-- and he hasn't been seen in many years.

He’d never thought he’d miss the non-taste of cram sticking to the roof of his mouth and camping under the stars with thirteen snoring dwarves and the itch of pony hair scratching its way up his nose, never mind his blasted allergies.
AU where Bilbo chooses to travel around Middle Earth instead of staying in Bag End after the events of the novel. Canon-compliant up to a point.

Summary
Written as a gift fill for In Small Packages. The prompt was "Derek/Stiles - Five Years Later".
He doesn’t like to think about Ecuador. When he does, all he remembers is blood, dead children and crying parents. Stiles thinks he helped, got rid of what was taking the children, but he couldn’t be sure. He’d left quickly.
(Sometimes what he remembers stops him from sleeping)
Stiles fled to Tijuana. He got lost in a bottle. In several bottles. He turned 19 in Tijuana. He doesn’t remember it. He thinks he called Derek.
(Derek never said either way)
One day he woke up sweaty, still drunk, and looked at the date. Stiles realised it was his mother’s birthday. He threw up and booked a flight out of Mexico.
