So there I was, chatting with a great bunch of people over at the Stage It show page for Ghost of the Robot when it happened -- Isis_Nocturne asked me to write her a Spuffy story. Now, I’ve never written from a prompt before… ideas just barge their way into my brain and stomp around until I’ve written them, so this was a bit of a novel experience.
She asked for a sweet bit of Spuffy lovin’ in any season, additional characters optional, but she’d like to see Dawn or Joyce. For the purposes of this story the comics never happened, and if I did hurt/comfort then Spike should be the one receiving comfort. Ideas started pinging around my brain almost immediately and this story is what I came up with.
She asked for a one-shot… bwahaha! Me and short stories… that’s a hoot. I did try to curb the length, and it is technically a one-shot, but yeah… this is me we’re talking about. It comes in at 5046 words, which is a record for me, but it’s still a pretty long one-shot.

Adam gets in Tommy's way while he's 'working' and gets himself shot with a poisoned arrow. The same poison Faith used to take down Angel all those years ago. Spike, Buffy, Willow and a few others drop by to help save Adam, Tommy and take out the nest of vamps that did this, thereby sending a message to the Vamp community.
And yeah, I know, I suck at summaries. Basically, lovenhardt1 wanted Adam injured because he was trying to do Tommy's job, Tommy angry because Adam doesn't trust him enough to do his job, and angry sex to ensue. This is what happened.

Summary
As soon as he’s corporeal again, Spike goes immediately to find Buffy. Upon arriving in Rome, he finds Giles and Andrew taking care of Dawn. Buffy is missing. The last time she was seen was three days before when she headed out to face the Immortal. Giles has commissioned Faith to find Buffy and Faith is on her way from Cleveland. Spike, of course, insists on helping her and Andrew wants to tag along.
They start out with the one clue they have. It is a cryptic message found in Buffy’s room which leads them to the ex-Hellmouth. Once there, they find a demon to kill and another message and so on and so forth wherever they go all over the world. Bonding occurs in their search for the Slayer, though occasionally Spike and Faith discuss good spots to dump Andrew’s body where no one could find and reanimate it.
Buffy’s hopping mad, by the way, but this isn’t about her.
