Summary
When a mission goes badly wrong and her master is left fighting for her life, Jaesa is forced to face some uncomfortable truths. Her position in the cutthroat world of the Sith is tenuous at best, and without the protection of a powerful master, who knows what might become of her- or of her beloved Vette, once a slave and now a free woman thanks to the Sith Lord they both serve. Slavery is just one of a myriad of awful fates that could await them.
Luckily, Tahrin is one step ahead of them, and proposes a trial by fire intended to harden Jaesa to the more ruthless aspects of Imperial high society- Jaesa will attend a political dinner in Tahrin's stead, the apprentice speaking on behalf of the master while Tahrin is indisposed from her injuries. It seems like a logical decision, and Jaesa did spend a number of years as a handmaiden on Alderaan after all, so she's hardly a stranger to prestigious gatherings. One would think that nothing could possibly go wrong.

Summary
In which a light side Sith master and her fallen Jedi apprentice debate the problematic elements of the Sith and Jedi codes respectively.
Tahrin had not planned on taking an apprentice this soon, but opportunity came knocking in the form of Jaesa Willsaam, a Jedi padawan quite willing to cast aside her beliefs and follow her blindly. How does a woman with her own questions on morality and power impart her understanding of the universe on a girl who has essentially come to her from the opposite end of the moral compass?

Summary
Jaesa Willsaam still struggles with the knowledge that she has defected to the Empire, even after being betrayed by her Jedi Master. Luckily, Vette is around to take her under her wing and teach her the finer points about surviving under the watchful eyes of the Sith without sacrificing hope- or a sense of humour.
But being a Sith does not mean giving up your heart- or standing by silently in the face of oppression and violence. For Jaesa, being a Sith might mean having the courage to take what she desires.
Set on Nar Shaddaa after Vette's personal mission. Mild spoilers for the Sith Warrior storyline.
