Summary
Thor takes a good look at Loki once he has hauled him back onto the quinjet, and realizes that there is something odd about Loki's eyes. Thor has grown and changed much in the last year, and no longer takes anything for granted. So he starts asking questions. It doesn't take long to figure out that Loki is not acting of his own free will.
Tony Stark knows what it is to be forced to do as an enemy commands. Steve Rogers has seen the atrocities manipulative madmen are willing to commit. Clint, Logan, Bruce and Natasha have been subjected to said madmen. They all know what it is to lose themselves, and to seek redemption.
Together, this band of broken heroes draws a line in the sand. They will not tolerate any tyrant, foreign or domestic. That includes Nick Fury and the WSC, who have used everyone on the team for their own aims. It includes Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross, who has hunted Bruce against all reason. It includes Odin, who treats his sons like commodities. And it includes Thanos, who has delusions of conquering Earth.
Along the way, they learn to trust each other. They learn to help each other. They become a family.

Originally a fill posted at norsekink in response to the prompt:
"After the Avengers capture Loki at the end of the movie, they lock him up as a precaution before shipping him off to Asgard. And being the good guys, they decide to give him the chance to bathe and dress in clean clothes instead of sleeping in his own dirty rags.
The problem is, without the whole battle gear and the drawn and mean look, Loki looks surprisingly young, which prompts the Avengers to ask Thor just how old Loki really is. Of course Loki is centuries old, but Thor tells them that in human standard, Loki would still be considered underage!
Cue to horrified Avengers who wants to know exactly what sort of crappy home life Loki must have had to end up like this before even reaching adulthood."
It rather spiralled from there into a behemoth, now in the process of being edited and hopefully cleaned of glaring plotholes! Updated daily.

So I have a prompt list. Several actually. And every day I write a short story based off my prompt word/phrase of the day.
All of them are Silmarillion-related (dips into The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings here and there).
Expect everything ranging from utterly cliche romance to mildly explicit gore and horror. No one ever said Arda was a nice place.
But do note that I won't be posting any smut here. Prompts are meaningful snapshots, and unless the sex is really important, I'll be skipping it to get to the point.

Danny might be able to overlook Jackson not telling him everything, if not for the fact that Jackson sometimes seemed to forget that Danny wasn’t one of his boyfriends. If they were alone he would sometimes lean over like he wanted to kiss him before coming to his senses, and he was always touching Danny in some way or another. It was another thing Jackson refused to talk about.

Loki hasn’t had a bad week; he’s had a bad year. And after leaving Midgard with Thor, it isn’t getting any better. Possibly not the best time to challenge Odin, but when you are sick and tired and it looks like more of the same is headed your way, well… Stubborn happens. It may not seem to be in your best interest, but how desperate are you for a resolution? Any resolution.
