Summary
The battle of New York was a turning point for the entire planet – but especially so for Bruce Banner. This is a unique chance for him to find the Hulk a place in this world. It is a staggering hope, but unrealistic as it sounds, it might just come true.
And then his hesitant plan turns out to be too successful. Everyone including the Avengers apparently expect the Hulk to take his turn in the spotlight. But the more Hulk thrives, the more Bruce withers, and nobody seems to notice or care. When Loki extends a hand to him, he is fully aware it is a trick – but he has got nothing else to hold onto.
The Avengers realize just a bit too late how royally they screwed up. The sharp-sighted, ever-watching Hawkeye cannot blame himself enough for not having seen this disaster coming. Can they still be saved from Banner ?
Do they even deserve it ?
(The story is set right after the 2012 Avengers movie with slight EMH dynamics thrown in the middle. Updates every two days !)

Summary
Post-Iron Man 3, and with slight spoilers: With all the damage from the Chitauri Invasion cleaned up, and no new crises for The Avengers to solve, Bruce is starting to feel a little stuck, a little trapped. Then he receives a communication from somebody who really is trapped.
Then comes the part where the guy who's been locked up, for no fault of his own, and knows what it feels like, starts to feel some sympathy for the one who deserves to be trapped and probably would have deserved an even harsher punishment.
Then comes a rescue, spiritual as well as physical. AND HULK HELPS.

If that wasn't hard enough, there's the little issue of the Avengers' reaction to Tony's new beau, and new threats creeping out of the woodwork to make life even more difficult for Tony & co.

Following the destruction of an alternate Midgard created by the All-Father Loki manages to hide on the real Midgard without the knowledge of Odin and Thor. And Loki looks for something to take his anger out on and who better than the humans that roamed that realm. But eventually even Loki got bored. And after a dozen years he was finally getting bored and looking for a new plaything.

"After the Avengers capture Loki at the end of the movie, they lock him up as a precaution before shipping him off to Asgard. And being the good guys, they decide to give him the chance to bathe and dress in clean clothes instead of sleeping in his own dirty rags.
The problem is, without the whole battle gear and the drawn and mean look, Loki looks surprisingly young, which prompts the Avengers to ask Thor just how old Loki really is. Of course Loki is centuries old, but Thor tells them that in human standard, Loki would still be considered underage!
Cue to horrified Avengers who wants to know exactly what sort of crappy home life Loki must have had to end up like this before even reaching adulthood."
