But the entire time he’s been back in Vancouver -- only two weeks, but it feels like so much longer -- he’s felt off-kilter and at loose ends. It’s not until Gillian’s there that he feels like himself again.

This is my first attempt at fanfiction. If you going to review, please be gentle! I thought I'd post the first chapter and then depending on feedback and/or reviews I would go from there.
Yes this is Real Personal Fanfiction. Gillian and David each have their own lives respectfully. I DON'T mean any HARM to either of them or their families. It's why it's called FICTION. They are simply CHARACTERS in a STORY.
Dates and events in this story can be based on real happenings and rumours, but the timeline means nothing. It could be mixed up, depending on how I feel so yes, I am aware of that.
This story basically entails the history of their relationship over the past twenty years and how it never went away. It never ended, despite all the obstacles. Yes there will be a few surprises and a few "oh my God how can she write that" moments. It's all meant to "juice" the story, if that makes sense. There will be angst, probably hurt and comfort and IF I gather the courage to write it, smut. It's why I've rated it as "mature". I'm hoping to use that as a push. Without further rambling, let's post...
PS. This hasn't been beta'd so again - go easy!
