In a society where everything you do is dictated by the colour of your blood, quite a lot of trolls are living the high life. Perfect comfort, effortless wealth, and freedom to do what they desire. However, many trolls are barely making it through each day alive. Whether they must keep up a certain amount of impossible work, or are slowly starving to death in slavery, they are all oppressed and restricted in everything, where they may go, how long they may work, even the standard of education they may receive.
All in all, Alternia is not a good place.However, amongst the slaves and the workers, there are whispers of a world far away.

Karkat tries to find some sort of normalcy and resides with Terezi Pyrope, a famous legislacerator, until a fateful day when she herself falls victim to the very society Feferi is trying to change.
