Summary
Gimli, a Dwarf among many living in Erebor, just wants to write a fic of mind-blowing proportions. That's all. And maybe gain a few more followers on tumblr. That's it. He's not anything special, doesn't have that many readers, isn't very outgoing at school but this is because he doesn't need to (he's awesome). Also his cousins won't stop bothering him.
Then along comes this beta reader who is surprisingly good at what they do. And Gimli grows a bit attached to them, reluctant as he is to admit it, even if they have an odd love for kittens and trees and knitting patterns. But, by Mahal's beard, that amount of snark shouldn't be legal even on the internet!

“Thorin Oakenshield,” Gandalf began, and Thorin started a little at the use of that name. He hadn't known that Gandalf was even aware of it. How much had the old man been snooping around? “May I introduce the leader of our company –”
The Dwarf held up his hand to Gandalf in a signal for quiet and gave a short but courteous bow as he held Thorin’s gaze.
“Bilbo Baggins, at your service,” he said and finally stepped inside, a bemused Thorin giving way almost without thought. Whoever this was, if he would dare to quiet Gandalf – well, perhaps this night still had a chance to turn for the better.

Summary
Erebor is prosperous and a stripling Dwalin roams its streets in carefree abandon. By chance, he encounters a fiery Dwarfling, and they tussle over a dagger. Decades later, Dwalin enters the halls of Erebor as a young warrior, and Thrain asks him to personally train his son - who is none other than that Dwarfling of long ago, now all grown up as the arrogant, beautiful prince Thorin. Intrigued with each other, what starts as simply comradeship, flourishes into something more.
Thus begins the tumultuous love between warrior and prince. Until Smaug lays Erebor to waste.
