Five Times Tony is Ignorant About Steve’s Coming From the 40s and One Time He Isn’t (Well, Only a Little Bit Anyway) by Yentl for jjournal

Summary
Despite the Avengers’ constant jokes (Tony) and concerns (Bruce) about the fact, they often still seemed to forget that Steve came pretty much straight from the 1940s.
It should have been nice, in a way, that his background wasn’t a problem, but it was also confusing and at times very frustrating when someone forgot.
Perhaps the worst part about it was that they weren’t actually forgetting either. Part of it was ignorance as well, which was not an easy thing to call Tony Stark out on.

AU: Where Billy is a bad guy and Teddy is Captain America’s son.
Summary:
It’s not easy being the son of the Scarlet Witch. It’s also not easy having to follow her around on her “errands.” But when I run into a certain hero, it gets even harder to stay sane. I don’t like being a villain, but I do it for the love of my mother. It’s not easy being the son of Captain America. Especially when I’m part Kree and Skull…I know…complicated story. Then being in the hero business, it’s a lot of pressure to keep my dad proud. Well…dads I should say…again, complicated. Then it gets even trickier juggling my life around when I meet this one kid at school. He’s nice and a complete nerd, but, he seems to have a lot of issues at home.

Steve doesn't really understand Tony, no matter how hard he tries
All you know is simple. He is: creating the future. You are: documenting the past. -

Summary
Steve is at a Halloween party and he can't get drunk, on alcohol that is. He meets a mysterious and sexy lady on the balcony but he doesn't have a clue who she is. A new presence at Stark Tower has all of the Avengers on their toes. Each chapter has 752 words, or at least that's what MS Word tells me! Slowly but surely turning into a story with lots of feels.

It's odd, but he's never been hugged this much in his life unless there are cameras flashing. He doesn't deserve it.
But it just feels so d*** safe. Can be read as a stand-alone.

"Howard's son?" Here Steve has this painfully hopeful face, like he can finally connect with his past in some small way. Fury has the grace to look at least subtly sympathetic.
"Died in Afghanistan in 2008," he says gruffly. "Prisoner of war until the place blew up. There wasn't much left of the body."
"I see." He's trying not to look crushed, really he is. "So what was the mission you needed me for?"
For a moment Fury looks grateful for the subject change. "There's some hooligan gallivanting around in a tin suit, blowing US property up in Eurasia. I need you to find the bastard, take him down, and bring him to us."

"Everything special about you came out of a bottle." While truer words hadn't been spoken, and he was sure that Tony hadn't meant it, it still hurt. It was the one thing that kept crashing through the dark haze of his nightmares.
Because, without the serum, who WAS he? Just a sickly kid from Brooklyn, that's all. He was nothing.
Captain America was dead.
