In a strange turn of events Tony Stark finds himself aboard a pirate ship. Rather than being terrified like any sane person would be he finds himself rather infatuated with the captain. Pirate AU based off of RP with a friend. This is my first fic for this fandom so go easy on me.
"Across the globe many pirates were notorious for their craft but by far the most infamous of band of pirates was the crew of the great ship the Avenger. No, it was not for their cruelty or for their blunder. These were no ordinary rats of the sea. Whisper the Avengers and any cake eater will weep and cringe. Lead by their fearless captain the crew would steal from the rich and give to the poor. A merry band of robin hoods upon the hallowed seas. Is there a better way to be known and feared? Yet, even in their spotlight, not a single soul had actually seen what the crew. At least not until they got involved with a certain inventor."

Summary
The Nine Kingdoms, once a magical realm of sorcerers and knights fighting dragons, has slowly been taken over by technology, though not all of the kingdoms are okay with that. Any remotely magical object has become greatly sought-after as magic fades from the world. And as tensions rise between the kingdoms, famous inventor Tony Stark finds himself caught up in the middle, pursued. He will end up turning to someone long thought dead in order to survive.

Thanks to some wonderful photomanips of Finch & Reese made for me as part of an LJ gift exchange, this idea for 'PoI' set in Victorian England has been rattling around in my brain for some time.
The fact that it has finally forced its way out of my psyche and begun being set to word processor is due to kmmerc's wonderful historical works inspiring me. Kmmerc, thank you! Hopefully it will fly and if not, at least I will have exorcised a plot-bunny demon and maybe Sir Hareington will leave me alone for awhile.
P.S.--Sorry if Reese’s cockney dialect sounds a bit contrived. I like writing phonetically when I do ‘accents’. I apologize if it becomes irritating to decipher.

Forced from everything they had Thorin and company go to Bilbo the lawyer of The Shire law firm for legal advice and are told by Elvin Industries they will only meet with them in their official London office so they take up with Gandalf the zeppelin builder and pick up the interest of a rouge group of air pirates called the Orcs who affiliate with a zeppelin gang referred to as the Goblins that have been hired to ensure that Smaug does not come into danger. -

When Simeon's arm was blown off by a shell blast, the magisters patched him up and gave him a spirited tin arm, which works like flesh and blood, but needs a bit more... instruction. In the convalescent hospital Simeon runs into an old friend, who helps him recognise the benefits of his spirited appendage.
Robert was sitting to his left, so Simeon lifted his arm, unbent his elbow, tilted his wrist and rested his spirited hand in Robert's palm. There was a feeling of warmth, of his spirit meeting Robert's, both of them buzzing with Ka. Robert closed his fingers over the cold tin, and Simeon felt the pressure. It activated an answering pressure deep in Simeon's gut.
Casting a quick look around the dormitory, Robert leaned close. "We're not alone here," he said, breath against Simeon's ear. "There's a storeroom at the end of the hallway. Meet me there tonight half an hour after lights out." He gave Simeon's hand a squeeze and stood.
