He listens to that one sentence on the tape over and over, click pause stop rewind and "You're assuming it's a choice," over and over in his head in Merlin's soft, alluring timbre until it's carved hot into his memory. The next time they bring Merlin out to be interviewed, Arthur stomps into the room with his hackles raised, shoulders squared, looking for a fight. He slams the door, he's rough with the furniture, and his knuckles go white when he grips the edge of the desk.
