They get drunk, invent new weapons, and are threatened by the Federation, but of course a last second Deus ex Machina saves the day.
Not really far-fetched when you consider this is the show that canonically had homicidal sand, telepathic cactus, rebellious crying cabbages, motherly fleas and a villain who wore prom dresses and high heels on the beach. And more.
