The main lights are off and only the dim radiance of a computer screen lights the area, casting in relief the wires strewn about the floor and the golden surfaces of the beehouse mainframes against the wall. The screen displays multiple one-sided conversations from himself and others, teal and maroon and gray, trying and failing to make contact. "I know you're here, I can smell you. It's fucking gross," he adds before stumbling over something dark on the floor beside the computer chair.
"Sorry," it mumbles.
