"Yeah, that'th pretty much what we were thinking." He grinned at how cute John looked. John flushed even redder, fisting a hand in Dave's godtier hoodie. "Oh. Well, I like biting." He said after a moment, mumbling it. Karkat raised an eyebrow, surprised. John was pretty much the spokesperson for vanilla. Dave smirked. "He likes being the one who does the biting." He corrected. "And he likes it when I beg." "Shut up." John hid his face against Dave's chest. "Really?" Karkat said, disbelieving that John was the one to top in that relationship. Dave snickered. "He's a dominant little shit once the pants are off." He pet John's hair absentmindedly.

After the Game, the kids and trolls end up on a planet very similar to Earth, complete with oceans, mountains, forests, etc. Dave takes Sollux to the beach.
The really bad thing about having the echoes of your powers still working is that you know when things are going to happen, without being able to stop them.

Summary
In the Land of Mines, the villages have no names. People describe where they live as this village over here, by the lake, or in the forest. They live their lives peacefully, mostly, farming their sustenance and doing their best to avoid monster raids. They live the only ways they can. But occasionally they talk of leaving, and the greatness of those who do – they leave and come back with trophies of gems and gunpowder, they come back with glowing stone and enough tales to sustain generations of children at bedtime.
Dave is not an exception to such talk. The boredom and monotony of village life wasn't something he was made for. He was made to leave this place, to be a hero people talk about reverently, a legend. He was made to be an adventurer. -

"How I got myself in such a situation was really beyond my comprehension, though I was well aware of the current priority, and regardless of the circumstances, I kept it nicely in mind. That priority being getting out of said situation, and fast if possible.
