'What I Learned at SRU' is an Avatar: The Last Airbender & Legend of Korra-inspired modern day college series about friendship, romance, family...and growing up. It is NOT your stereotypical fluffy nonsense high-school stuff. It is NOT a re-telling of the series, it is an original plot with backstories and certain pieces heavily inspired by The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra story, but using them as springboards to explore different scenarios and modern events. It's a massive fanfiction/fanart (200+ arts and counting) project that could perhaps be best summarized as Avatar: TLA/LoK meets How I Met Your Mother in a college setting (though less comedy and perhaps more drama/friendship/feelings...?). It is a huge love letter and narrative reply to the Avatar series, exploring themes concerning young adulthood. As such, it is a bit too complicated to decide what the most fitting tags are.

After his banishment from Pirate Island, Prince Zuko will do anything to capture the Avatar and regain his father's favor - even join the renegade band of Lost Boys (lead by the wild-eyed, ever-young Jet), fight giant crocodile-dragons, deal with mysterious moon-worshipping merfolk, rescue Indian princesses, and room with one MEAN cat.
(Unfortunately this would all be so much easier if Jet weren't so sexy and charismatic and perfect and - maybe in love with Zuko?)

Can Aang come to grips with the heart ache, and be able to still prepare himself to defeat Fire Lord Ozai?
