This starts at the end of the Maurader's fifth year, and then continues on. There is a ton of shipping in this story, but no smut, it's mostly fluff. We see how James and Lily start to get together, why Remus is cautious about starting a relationship with Tonks later in his life, what happens to make Sirius so bitter about everything, why Peter is the way he is, and we find out why Voldemort thinks it's Harry on that fateful night instead of Neville. And there's a freaking lot of fight scenes.

It wasn't exactly an optimal situation but Sirius couldn't bear to imagine the alternative, and so he went along with it as smilingly as he could manage.
