Summary
Oswyn, Bann Sighard's son, has been having a hard time dealing with the aftermath of the abuse he suffered during the Blight Year while imprisoned by Rendon Howe, both physically and emotionally. That all begins to change after a random encounter with an elf named Varel Baern, late of the Blackstone irregulars, which leads to a growing friendship between the young nobleman and the equally young ex-mercenary.
