Ed could untie knots in the fifth and sixth dimensions -- blindfolded -- and he could convince the military he fell through a rabbit-hole, and he could even shut down a Drachman invasion (with a little help), but he can't seem to avoid dating Roy Mustang or to sort out which general is trying to destabilize Amestris from within. Only one of these is okay.

"Yeah, yeah. But if they 'forget' to return even one of my books, I swear I'll tear headquarters apart to get it back. See how they like it."

Summary
With nothing left in Amestris to live for, Roy Mustang has decided to seek out the Gate, to join the man who still haunts his thoughts, years later. But he feels obliged to give someone else a chance whom he knows love Edward Elric as much as Roy does. It's the least he can do for her, after all he's taken from Winry Rockbell.
Post-COS. One-sided EdWin, eventual RoyEd. Later stories in the series may involve other pairings as well. First chapter has had some substantial edits, let me know what you think!
