Bilbo Baggins thought he was quite done with Adventures and wallowing in memories of Certain Dark-haired, Blue-eyed, Aggravatingly Gorgeous and Arrogant Bastards. He had his bookstore, his flat, good friends, his favorite cousin coming to visit and the company of two rambunctious but good-hearted lads that he's come to think of as family.
He couldn't be more wrong.

Summary
This series will have one fic per Sherlock episode, with series one being set in John's 6th year (and Sherlock's 5th) and series two being set in John's 7th and final year at Hogwarts. Fics will have similar (but nowhere near identical) plots to the actual BBC Sherlock episodes, with most locations being replaced with HP-universe settings. This series is set well after the Second Wizarding War and involves next to none of the HP characters, instead using Sherlock characters and the occasional minor OC.

Summary
These stories were all written in the late 1990s and have been archived since then at Sacrilege!, a Holmes slash archive maintained by Cress/Miss Roylott. "The Adventure of Downton Abbey" is really the fourth story in that series, and it's posted here, so I cross-posted the earlier three stories to make the set complete. Each can be read as a stand-alone story, though each also includes some references to the earlier ones. Whether you've already read them or are finding them for the first time now, I hope y'all enjoy.

Everyone’s eyes turn toward the young man being held by the scruff of his neck. He’s easily as tall as the sheriff, but much thinner in build. When he raises his head up, John’s heart catches at the sight of pale eyes reflecting the moonlight back to them. He very carefully controls his breathing but he can tell, even from this distance, that this newcomer noted the reaction.
Jack takes in the raggedy young man’s clothes, his unkempt hair, pale eyes and high cheekbones. He thinks to himself "halfbreed" but out loud he calls Mike to come forward. Mike steps up and looks at the pitiful creature in front of them. He recognizes a boy he hasn’t seen in near ten years.

Sherlock got rid of everything that he had ever known about the stars when he was nine years and five months old, which given his plans to be a pirate in the West Indies, the importance of astral navigation for a pirate, and given that he was him, that had been quite a lot. He didn't give away his mariner's astrolabe until much later.
When Irene was ten years old, she fell in love with the most beautiful, perfectly-perfect amoral Omega woman ever. Which is to say, she read Steinbeck's "East of Eden".
John stayed up one particularly nasty March night until 2:32 am reading "The Seven Pillars of Wisdom". Hail rattled against the window. To John, it was the sound of desert sand on dry canvas.
