Birthday fic for garrideb over on LJ, who requested huddling for warmth fic with James as a selkie, but he simply can't handle cold weather without his sealskin, so Michael is forced to cuddle him whenever he's in his human form.
Contains brief reference to Michael having contemplated self-harm in the past, but he’s been properly rescued by James by now; also, lots of cuddling and hot cocoa and love and two people being each other's other halves.

Summary
The Ebb of the Sea by Ladylade, read aloud:
Sheriff Stilinski and his wife couldn't have children. In her desperation, Mrs. Stilinski found a young Selkie boy and hid his sealskin. Only she knew where it was hidden; when she died, so did that knowledge.
Stiles grew to love his human family as his own, even grieving the death of his captor/mom, but the sea still calls to him in Beacon Hills.
