The first time Stiles really notices Kurt Hummel the boy is slumped against lockers in the rapidly emptying hall, ignored by everyone who walks past. Stiles wants to make himself move; wants to reach out his hand and help him to his feet and make sure he knows that someone sees him. Instead he just stands there, watching until the bell for class has rung and the boy has hoisted himself to his feet and shuffled off down the hall, shoulders hunched dejectedly.

Derek stops short the moment his eyes fall on the huddled mass in the corner. The beta lying crumpled there is trying desperately to make himself seem as small as possible and cover his most vulnerable areas. It takes Derek almost a full minute to realize who it is and another to realize that he’s wearing tattered, blood-stained remains of the clothes he disappeared in over four months ago. The acrid stench clinging to him tells such a vivid story of the atrocities he must have endured while he’s been missing that Derek thinks he might be sick.
“Stiles?” he asks in disbelief.

Right, so Derek is a father, Stiles is upset, the mother is unsure of what she's doing (moreso than before her baby became a werebaby), Lydia is making Derek pay, Scott is defending his best friend, and the rest are just along for the ride.

Summary
Stiles gets inspired by a badly injured Derek returns to the pack after being attacked by hunters. Stiles decides he’s going to go and find if he can train himself to become a better protector for his friends. Derek somehow senses that Stiles is going to leave, comes to his house to beg him to stay. Stiles and Derek were not together at this time, but they do share a passionate night together; which leaves Derek unknowingly by Stiles marked by him. Stiles leaves in the night, leaving a sleeping Derek in his bed.
Cut to years later, Stiles comes back to town with a pack of his own of hunters that share his vision, to protect those they love despite their species. Stiles sees that over the years someone had kid(s), and sees that they share an strong resemblance to Derek. Stiles thinks that Derek moved on, up until his father comes along and introduces the children to be his grandchildren. That and Derek’s been missing for a few days by then. It a new pack has come into town, and they are one of the suspected groups to be behind Derek’s disappearance; the other being a not-so-new group of rouge hunters, being led by Allison.

Despite all the supernatural going on in their lives, the pack is no different from the rest of the ordinary people. The first day the real summer hits Beacon Hills happens to be a Saturday. The temperature is just right and the sun’s warming the skin and it feels like you already wake up with thoughts of ice cream and water fights in the garden floating around your head.
Stiles, still lying in bed for a while after waking up, decides that that’s what they’ll do today. So he gets up, gets himself ready and drives into town before going to Derek’s place to get all he needs for a decent first water fight of the summer. Water guns, water balloons, he gets the entire shebang, dumping it into the trunk of his jeep.
