His youngest son, Albus Severus, told Potter that his ear hurt and he couldn't find his mother. Potter told him to stay behind and he would get his son some water and medicine. He went down the stairs, weaving through the living room. He stopped halfway to the kitchen because he "felt something was off."
The body of his wife, Ginerva Potter, laid on the couch, her throat slid and her hands and ankles bound. Her pyjama top had been pulled open and it was twisted up around her armpits.
