Notes
Loved this one; it feels intense, especially Natasha's point of view. An exploration of their backstory that does a great job showing their personalities as well as the development of their... well, not relationship... of that thing between them. From one near-murder to the next.
I'm reminded just a little of those Leverage fics I love, in which Nate chases Sophie across Europe. Only in this case with less art theft and considerably more violence and bloodshed. These two are cold-blooded assassins and the story treats them as such.

Summary
Upon arriving in London, Subaru expected haunted mansions and the rain, but definitely not meeting up with the world's only consulting detective.
“Sumeragi Subaru.” Subaru shook Watson’s hand cautiously; he was still slightly flushed from the embarrassment caused by Holmes’s scrutiny. “I was hired to perform an exorcism.”
Sherlock snorted. “Another one of those attention-seeking madmen.” He walked over the window, letting out a loud sigh. “Moriarty was, at least, original.”
“Shut up, Sherlock.” John shook his head. “Sorry. Right. That was a joke, right?” He knitted his eyebrows.
Subaru set his jaw and straightened his shoulders. “Don’t worry for my sake, Mr. Watson. It’s a common perception of my profession.”

Summary
Prompt Sherlock is intersexed and identifies himself as a man. His ambiguous genitalia and the history of his sexuality and identity are what have kept him from being close to people romantically, particularly John. John finds out or is told, and it really is all fine.
Warnings References to the medical management of intersexed people being, at times, less than humane, but nothing specific or graphic.
Intentional tense change: Parts 1-3 are in present tense, the rest in past tense.Last bookmarked by virile
