Sean says it’s good for both of them to have someone around: Nick so that he doesn’t forget he’s not the only person on the face of the earth, and Ryan so that he doesn’t burn anything down. It’s mostly a joke, but he does like it. Having Ryan there. It makes it feel more like home, or like something anyway.
In which Ryan is in love with his straight best friend, Nick is scared of growing up, and everyone- eventually- has to figure out where they belong.

A NO-BAND AU IN WHICH: Spencer and Brendon get married for the insurance, every single bandom person has a cameo, the city of Chicago is basically a character, Ryan and Spencer are students, Spencer works at the best Sbux ever, Nate Ruess is the shift of my heart, they go to Kuma's for the "reception", and Ryan eats a lot of bacon.

It only happened once, when they were still learning to live together, still getting used to sharing the same space. Sean reached around Tom into the fridge, and she flinched, jumped, pushed him away hard enough to send him careening into the counter. They both apologized, and Tom laughed it off, sounding strained. For the sake of harmonious living, Sean didn't call her on it.
