In this version of events, the Senior Partners unleashed the apocalypse before Angel had a chance to assassinate the Order of the Black Thorn. To prevent the destruction of LA, Wesley threw himself into a demon dimension and Angel went after him. After weeks of anxiety and spellcasting, the remnants of Angel Investigations and the visiting Scoobies attempt to bring them back.
Pairings past and present mentioned (often quite fleetingly) in this fic: Angel/Buffy, Angel/Cordelia, Angelus/Spike, Wesley/Cordelia, Wesley/Lilah, Wesley/Fred, Gunn/Fred, Gunn/Wesley implications, Willow/Kennedy, Xander/Anya, Giles/Jenny, Giles/Joyce, Spike/Buffy. Summary
Willow and Giles are sent to save what they can from the aftermath of Angel’s fight with the Circle of the Black Thorn. A higher power seems to want Wesley brought back to life and Gunn saved, but for what purpose? With a mystery of his own to solve, Giles takes a healing Gunn and disorientated Wesley back to England with him and Willow to continue their recovery there. In the meantime someone in Harrogate is murdering witches.

When Buffy comes back from LA upset about her altercation with Angel, Riley and Xander decide to drive up to Los Angeles to confront the vampire - only to find a battered Wesley and Cordelia trying to come to terms with what Faith did to them. When a vision hits, the four of them have to work together. Takes place after AtS 1.19 Sanctuary and during BtVS 4.20 The Yoko Factor (the events of which get slightly altered in this fic). WARNINGS: Can’t think of anything too icky in it unless there are people who are traumatized by Riley or doughnuts. Oh, apart from all the fighting and chopping up of demons and stuff.
