America hasn't been himself the past decade. He has looked tired and worn out, deprived of his usual cocky nature; and hides behind a fake personality. This makes Russia's furious, he misses his old enemy, the old America, the one who's eyes shone with fiery passion; so he figures the best way to bring him back is to kidnap the nation.

I received the following fic prompt on Tumblr: Ten and Rose, season two - The Doctor and Rose are on an innocent date around London taking a break from traveling. They're getting some ice cream from a well-known shoppe when a robber comes in and Rose is shot during the mayhem. Queue Rose death scene and the Doctor doing everything he can to save her even though he knows it's useless. Include the line: Rose never thought she would die from something as mundane as an ordinary gunshot wound. Happy writing! (;
It was a doozy! I hope I did it justice, even if I couldn't quite keep to the letter of the prompt. I hope she forgives me. ;) Oh, I also set it in America instead of London.
